Gift Planning

It’s never too early for a donor to start thinking about the kind of legacy he or she wants to leave at Colorado State University. A planned gift can enable donors to make the greatest impact and ensure success for future students, faculty, and staff of Colorado State University.

The Office of Gift Planning works with donors and their advisers to design a gift plan that most effectively accomplishes the donors’ charitable goals in light of their individual financial and estate planning needs.

We use a variety of financial tools and techniques for giving, including bequests, gifts of life insurance and retirement assets, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts, all of which offer unique tax and other benefits to the donors and/or their heirs.

In addition, we provide education to our donors through marketing and outreach efforts that include publications, brochures, website information, e-newsletters, advertisements, public presentations, and personal visits. We also supply technical expertise to our colleagues who are working with donors considering a planned gift.
