A Message from President McConnell

Dear CSU Ram Family,

I hope all of you and your families are staying healthy and coping during these difficult times. I’m reaching out today for one reason: to say thank you. I’ve been incredibly moved by the way our community has responded to the many challenges of this global pandemic and I want to express my deep gratitude to each and every member of the Ram family for the way you have supported one another and the University.

Colorado State University has decades of experience researching and responding to infectious disease and is uniquely positioned to help lead the fight against COVID-19. Currently, some 100 CSU investigators and staff are involved in more than 25 active COVID-19-related projects, including vaccine development. Learn more about those projects here.

Rams around the world have stepped up to support these programs and those in need. More than $184,000 was raised for critical research and student assistance during what would have been our annual CSU Day of Giving. In the last month alone, more than 400 of you gave $27,840 to Ram Aid, a fund to help students at risk of leaving CSU because of unanticipated expenses. And the CSU Alumni Association is organizing virtual events and offering resources, including much-needed career services, to keep us connected and prepared.

I sincerely appreciate all you are doing and I know that your care, concern, and commitment are essential to making CSU such an extraordinary university and community.

Warmly,

Joyce McConnell

President, Colorado State University
