Building Your Legacy
Last spring, we introduced EverGreen, an inside look at the transformative impact of your philanthropy at CSU, designed exclusively for members of our stalwart donor communities. In the year since, we’ve been delighted by your response to the stories of lives changed and communities transformed because of your generosity. Here on campus spring is once again in full swing, bringing with it a season of transition as the beloved Oval turns bright shades of green and graduates embark on their next journey as new members of the CSU alumni family.
In University Advancement, we’re experiencing our own transitions with Vice President Kim Tobin’s departure and President McConnell appointing the two of us to serve as interim co-vice presidents while a search is being conducted. Changes are a normal occurrence for every organization, and while often bittersweet, they offer us an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of those involved. The two of us have served CSU for a combined total of nearly 70 years. Longevity is a vital part of legacies, which are always shaped by the people and partnerships who are part of our journey – and that includes you.
This edition of EverGreen spotlights the visionary and enduring effect of donor generosity in various forms, including those whose legacy lives on through planned gifts. Jack Curfman (’49) was not only a beloved faculty member, mentor, and designer during a career that spanned more than 50 years at CSU, he was also a close friend for decades. Alongside inspirational stories of lasting impact, we’re proud to highlight Jack’s generous spirit and the difference he continues to make in the lives of our students.
Thank you creating your own legacy through your gifts to CSU and Go Rams!
