Message from the VP – February 2016

Brett Anderson, vice president for
University Advancement

Dear Colleagues,

The worst-kept secret is finally out there! As you know, at the 1870 Dinner on Saturday night, we unveiled and launched State Your Purpose – The Campaign for Colorado State University. It marked the start of a new and exciting chapter in our campaign, and we celebrated and thanked our most loyal and devoted donors who have and will continue to be partners in our University’s goal to raise $1 billion by 2020.

We are poised for success, and that’s thanks to your tremendous focus and dedication. Our first campaign, which ended in 2012 and exceeded its fundraising goal by $40 million, transformed how CSU approached private fundraising. Now, we’re taking it to the next level and are on our way to achieving new heights. I’m honored to share this exciting journey with all of you.

On Saturday night, Tony Frank said, "This campaign doesn't ask us what we'd like, what we'd dream of. It demands that we strive in a quest for excellence that, in one sense, can never succeed because perfection cannot be attained, but, in another, can never fail, because putting everything we have into our best on behalf of others cannot fail. It never has. It never will. It will not on our watch. This isn't a campaign that quietly questions our thinking about the future. This is a campaign that demands a declaration: State your purpose."

Challenge accepted. Each and every one of you is critical to this movement. You breathe life into this campaign, and you are making such a major impact on the future of CSU. The entire leadership team of the University and I are tremendously grateful!
