Message from the VP – January 2017

Brett Anderson, vice president for
University Advancement

Dear Colleagues,

Do you agree that the winter break flew by? I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and a great start to your new year!

The new year symbolizes, for so many of us, an opportunity for a fresh start and a renewed perspective. We were fortunate, as a team, to end 2016 on a high note with our results – raising more than $127 million from more than 24,000 donors in the first six months. Both of these are records for the first six months of a fiscal year.

Thanks to all who had a hand in implementing yet another record-breaking and successful Giving Tuesday; for your continued diligence in identifying, meeting, engaging with, and stewarding donors; for those who helped support our football program as they traveled to the frozen tundra (literally) in Idaho before Christmas; and the many who celebrated CSU Day at the National Western Stock Show. It’s in all of these moments that your expertise and your presence enhance what we’re trying to do here at Colorado State University.

Now, as students return, we move into the rush of the spring semester and all that comes with it – events, more events, crazy and ever-unpredictable weather, and the second half of our fiscal year – with tremendous momentum. We are significantly ahead of our pace compared to this time last year and on track to another outstanding finish. Though we have raised nearly $760 million toward our billion-dollar campaign goal, there is still much work to be done.

As we forge ahead, let’s not forget why we do this work. I hope you continue to realize the impact you have on the CSU experience. You help change lives and make an incredible difference.

Thank you for all you do each day to help our division succeed and Colorado State University excel.

My best,
