On-the-Spot Award Winners

We are excited to announce the recipients of the University Advancement On-the-Spot Award:

Debbie Biggs
"I would like to recognize Debbie Biggs for managing the Gift Policies manual update project. The manual is updated approximately every 18 months and requires great attention to detail, organization, and coordinated communication with committee members. The manual is approximately 120 pages. I appreciate the above-and-beyond commitment of her time for this project and her positive attitude, which is so critical for success, especially in new endeavors."

Katie Brayden
"For the past eight months, Katie has gone above and beyond her regular job duties by leading the Donor Relations and Stewardship Innovation Committee. It's not easy to wrangle 12-15 committee members (and their respective subcommittees) while also keeping them focused, organized, and motivated. Katie succeeded in all of these, plus she has done a tremendous job in capturing and synthesizing the feedback to put forth in recommendations for the Donor Relations staff. Katie's knowledge, and the respect she had among her committee members, was evident throughout several months, and it was truly a pleasure to have her lead this effort."

     - Colleen Meyer

Angie Curtis
"I'd like to recognize Angie's incredible customer service. This month, I had two searches to lead. Angie's willingness to take time out of her day, on multiple occasions, to walk me through the process was over and above and extremely appreciated. In every instance, Angie showed an immediate willingness to stop what she was doing, answer questions, and address concerns, and she even joined us at several search committee meetings to help our groups (meetings that were not previously on her calendar). She is always willing to help and never makes search committee chairs/members feel like an inconvenience or an obligation."

Therese Lask
"For the past four semesters, Therese has significantly supported the College of Health and Human Sciences Emerging Leaders Council, which is under the direction of Dean Jeff McCubbin. She lends us her professional expertise and her CSU Alumni Association connections to provide relevant, meaningful, and value-added content to our council meetings, the most recent of which was held May 21, 2016. In many ways, Therese provides our council members certain things that Dean McCubbin and I cannot, such as professional development, skills-building, and participation in larger CSU initiatives. Therese is a service-focused and team-oriented partner, and I would argue an absolutely essential member of the council's administrative team. As an added bonus, our council members are big fans of Therese! We are tremendously grateful that she's shared her time and talents with us, and with deep respect and appreciation, the college would like to nominate her for an On-the-Spot Award. She is a vital contributor, who continues to go above and beyond for us."
