Message from the VP – May 2017

Brett Anderson, vice president for
University Advancement

Dear Colleagues,

Last week, nearly 4,300 students turned their tassels and, in the blink of an eye, became Colorado State University alumni. Surrounded by the support of their family and friends, we turned them loose into the world with an invaluable education and diploma to show for all of their hard work and commitment.

I believe CSU has prepared our graduates for greatness, and I believe each of you has played a role in their success. Our record-breaking numbers mean more scholarships, new programs, and research that changes lives. Your dedicated efforts have a tremendous impact on all areas of a student’s experience, and I appreciate, more than you know, your work behind the scenes to make all of it possible.

Speaking of scholarships, tomorrow we’ll host the Alumni Association’s Green & Gold Gala in Denver to support the Metro Denver Scholarship endowment, and we’re expecting a crowd of more than 450 guests. Scholarships like these allow students facing hardship in their final years at CSU to complete degrees and create the access and opportunity at the very core of our land-grant mission. Your efforts make them possible.

I know it’s been busy. You all have been doing an amazing job. So far, we’ve raised $168.6 million this fiscal year (pulled May 16) and $792.8 million since the beginning of the campaign. We’re closing in on the end of the fiscal year. Stay strong, stay positive!

Our graduates leave us knowing we provided them with the best education. They also leave us understanding what feeling supported by a Rams family is all about. Thank you for your work in making that a reality.

My best,
